Beringer 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley
Winemaker's Notes
“Knights Valley Cabernet has been an iconic wine for Beringer for over twenty years. And it has been a favorite of mine since I first set foot in the vineyard over two decades ago myself. I'm always struck by the unique beauty of this location when I'm walking the vineyard in the morning, and I quickly find myself focusing on how best to capture the sun-kissed, abundant flavors in these grapes. The 2007 Knights Valley is redolent of blackberry, brown sugar and star anise in the nose. Its juicy fruit core, round mouthfeel and dusty tannins are perfectly expressive of the Knights Valley vineyard.” —Winemaker, Laurie Hook
2008 Malbec Reserva Mendoza, Argentina
Winemaker's Notes
The Colores del Sol Malbec 2008 Reserva is a deep ruby color with bright purple hues. Intense aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and hints of smoke lead into a rich palate full of juicy fruit characteristics, brown spice, and mocha notes. The wine shows excellent balance with an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel and round, supple tannins.
2007 Robert Young Vineyard Chardonnay Alexander Valley
Winemaker's Notes
“Fresh aromas of yellow stone fruit, lemon zest and hints of honeysuckle and vanilla introduce the nose of this single vineyard Chardonnay. A medium-bodied entry fills the mouth with notes of melon, clove and wet stone minerality and ends with a lasting lemon oil finish. The wine has a creamy texture with bright acidity, making this an excellent food wine.” —Margo Van Staaveren, Winemaker
2008 Matua Valley Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand
Winemaker's Notes
Light green in colour. The nose shows tropical and citrus fruits along with herbaceous varietal characters. The palate is generous and fruit driven with classical Marlborough acidity giving structure and length. A fresh and fruit driven Sauvignon Blanc perfect for drinking now.
2008 Stags' Leap Chardonnay Napa Valley
Winemaker's Notes
The luscious aroma of honeysuckle greets the nose, following through to flavors of green apple and orange peel on the palate. The mid-palate is round with a creamy mouthfeel from aging on the lees.
2006 Souverain Merlot Alexander Valley, Sonoma County
Winemaker's Notes
Deep ruby in color, this dense and concentrated Alexander Valley Merlot offers classic aromas of ripe black plum, blackcurrant and blueberry with hints of violet and clove. The core of vibrant fruit balances nicely with the fine-grained tannins, creating a plush and juicy mouthfeel. Baking spice notes from aging in oak barrels meld nicely with the generous black fruit and lead to a long, smooth finish.
